Fit and comfort designed specifically for backcountry movement are of paramount importance for the G3 Cabrio 30 packs. Each model features a vertically stable structure while still allowing for the dynamics of skiing and riding. The snow-shedding moulded backpanel transfers the load of the pack to the hips, while the waistbelt features just the right amount of padding for the size of each pack. The comfortable shoulder harnesses are built to accommodate movement for the uphill and the down. CABRIO packs are user-focused winter backcountry packs that can be used with or without the removable Alpride 2.0 Airbag System.
The mechanical airbag system used in the CABRIO packs does not rely on electronics, batteries, or software; allowing the user to forget about it until it is needed to do its job.
One of the sticking points for many airbag packs on the market is the lack of space left in the pack once the system is added. The removable Alpride Airbag System uses only 1.7 L of volume in the pack. This retains plenty of space for the rest of your gear.
At just 690 g, the Alpride Airbag System is one of the lightest systems available. Including the pack, the airbag system, and the cartridges this fully-featured pack weighs in at just 2690 g which makes it over 500 g lighter than most packs on the market.
Moreover, the IATA (International Air Transport Association) has declared Alpride cartidges safe for travel. The cartridges fit into the same category as those found in inflatable life jackets on airplanes. Each user is allowed to travel with 2 sets of cartridges for one pack.
Every G3 product is held to a high standard of simplicity, reliability, design and lightweight. Each piece of technology in the CABRIO packs had to use these expectations to ultimately increase the safety and experience of the user. The Alpride 2.0 Airbag System is a perfect fit as its design does not rely on electronics, batteries, or software. This mechanical system can be relied on to do its job every time. Inspiration for this gas cylinder system came from a similar design found on emergency life jackets – a maintenance free system that has been trusted for nearly 50 years.
