Manteaux HOMME
Canmore's most complete selection of men's technical jackets — hardshells, softshells, insulated layers, and windbreakers from Black Diamond, Mammut, Ortovox, and Flylow. Whether you're skinning into the Wapta Icefield, following a mixed route in the Ghost, or hiking the Rockwall during shoulder season, the right jacket is the piece that decides your day. We carry technical outerwear that the Rockies conditions actually demand.

How to choose the right jacket for Canadian Rockies conditions
Spring ski touring (April–June) demands a breathable softshell for the skin track — a hardshell traps heat at high output and leaves you wet before you reach the col. Add a packable midlayer jacket for the pre-dawn push and a light rain shell for the descent in wet spring snow. Summer alpine climbing (July–September) shifts the priority toward compressibility and harness compatibility: an insulated hoody and a windproof softshell cover 90% of above-treeline conditions, with a packable hardshell as insurance for afternoon convective storms.
The most common sizing mistake: ordering a jacket without checking helmet compatibility on the hood. All technical jackets in this collection list hood compatibility (ski helmet, climbing helmet, or hat-only) in the product specs. If you're unsure which system fits your objectives this season, our Canmore shop team is available to help you build the right layering kit.
